Presented in 1895 by Alfred Borwick, the first President of the Club.
For his year of office known as the President’s Challenge Anchor and then as the Alfred Borwick Challenge Anchor, it was given at the Autumn Meeting for the best return under handicap against bogey over 36 holes from 1895 to 1897 and then for one round from 1898 to 1908. What happened to it after that it is not known.
