The Old Millfieldian Golfing Society
The Old Millfieldian Golfing Society welcomes OM’s of all golfing abilities with an ‘active’ or ‘non-active’ “handicap”. The Society has a calendar that includes golf throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn. There are matches, competitions, and Society Meetings.
The main Society Day is The Summer Meeting (Royal Wimbledon in 2018), plus we actively support the OM Society Annual Golf Day held in October. At both these meetings there is an 18 hole stableford round played in 4-ball format, with team and individual prizes, plus a scratch individual prize.
The Society enters several representative competitions. They are team foursomes competitions played off scratch, including the Grafton Morrish and The Brent Knoll Bowl. The ladies enter the Tassie which is a ladies foursomes competition, with both handicap and scratch prizes.
Annual subscription for the society is £15, or there is a preferred life subscription available for £100 which includes a fine OMGS silk tie. Match/Green fees vary depending on the course being played. The Society seeks to fund to subsidise the cost of meetings/events for younger members/university students. Please ask Richard Champion, Hon. Secretary, for details.
If you are keen to play golf with a group of like-minded individuals who are fellow OMs, in a convivial atmosphere, then please do get involved.
We also seek to encourage OM’s to make up impromptu games at their home club and entertain those OM’s who are not yet members of clubs.
